Let's Have Some Fun, This Beat is Sick

Happy Friday!  Today I have got some Things I Love This Week, and also some Link Lovin' for you guys!

Things I Love!

Being home! I love seeing my family and hometown friends, eating and hanging out at Weir's (an ice cream place), being able to split my time hanging out in NYC and in the pretty Hudson Valley, and enjoying my summer.  The time is flying by already!

being healthy! Last Thursday was my first full day at home, so I woke up early (okay, it was at noon, but whatever) and went to the gym with my best friend. I have a membership to Gold's Gym in Newburgh, NY, and let me tell you: that place is amazing. It is giant and has everything you could possibly need. When I got home I made a fruit smoothie and sat outside in the sun with my dog.  Great day much?

♥ This Alexander McQueen Eyes ad that was in W magazine this month:

♥ Looking at pictures of crazy hair

♥ Treats! My friends at school gave me all kinds of delicious treats over the weekend. My roommate's parents got us a chocolate pizza from Max Brenner chocolate restaurant!

Link Lovin!

So Much Pun. If you read my blog regularly, or know me in person then you know what a complete sucker I am for puns. This website is absolute gold:

♥ The history of alternative hairstyles on Mookychick. Que interesting!

♥ Lauren on IFB asks, Are Bloggers Getting Stressed?

♥ The Periodic Table of Typefaces poster, and the So You Need a Typeface poster. Loooove ittttt. I am obsessed.

Hot Nerds Reading Comics! Very yes!

Tonight, I am going to a Lady Gaga themed senior showcase at my old High School. It is run by one of my best friends and features the seniors of the drama club, which I am a former Vice President of, haha! You better believe that I am dressing up, so stop by later for pictures! What are you loving this week?

In Other News

In other news, today is Vincent Van Gogh's birthday!

Happy Birthday Vincent Van Gogh!

Maybe he'll cheer up for a change.  Everyone loves you now, man! I'm sorry that she didn't!
Come on, you're bleeding in the cake. Oh that's paint? Well that's okay, we're used to that here.  Love ya!

In other other news:
♥  Lady Gaga's song "Alejandro" is apparently number 87 on the itunes charts

These are pretty funny! I think they are really accurate.

I WANT THIS. I would eat golden meals every day and of course, when life gives you lemons you paint that shit gold

♥ the rain was pretty intense today and I secretly enjoyed it

♥ DEADMAU5 was on Gossip Girl last night.

♥ David Bowie. Enough said.

If you are in NYC, come see my friends The Years Gone By play at Webster Hall tomorrow night! They are super rad.  Jetlag Gemini is playing too.  I will be there! Come say hi, I promise I'm friendly!  I'll be the girl with partially pink hair, probably wearing a TYGB shirt and losing ten thousand scene points while I smile and dance and sing all the words.  I told you they were rad. Pop punk will live forever! I accidentally wrote "love" at first instead of "live" but it is all the same.

Things I Love This Week

It is very sad about Alexander McQueen. He will be remembered forever, this has been the death of drama, the death of and innovation. He is the true definition of tragic genius.

Here's a little round-up of posts dedicated to Alexander McQueen. If you posted something or know someone who did, leave it in the comments please.

However, life goes on and we must think about the good things in life that make us happy every day.
Here are some things that made me smile this week:

♥ My favorite band, Brand New, is going on tour!

♥ The Demoiselles = really awesome. Gooo, reeeaaaad!

♥ Doppleganger week on facebook was really funny. According to myheritage.com, I look like Camilla Belle, Mandy Moore, and Lalaine - from Lizzie McGwire! (I don't look like any of these people). It also told my roommate that she looked like the Japanese president, and told me that I looked like Mother Theresa. Haha! According to my friend Jack, I look like Marisa Tomei! According to my brain’s wishes, I look like Rogue from X-Men. I love her!

♥ I'm going to see Four Year Strong tomorrow night! I'm super stoked, I have never seen them live and I've heard that they are amazing.
Also, can someone get me this for Valentine's Day? Please?

♥ This picture of Lady Gaga is beautiful.

This upscaled clothing designer reuses clothing and turns them into beautiful things to wear. PS, she graduated from Parsons!

This snowman, who is clearly a student at The New School, was posted on the Look At This Fucking Hipster blog.

♥  Radical  Self  Love

Have a good weekend everybody!  I'll be running around all weekend, working for NYFW and tearing up the city!  Follow me on twitter for updates!  What's making you smile this week?

Things I Love

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far!
Right now I'm totally procrastinating taking a break and thinking about all the things I love this week!  Would you like to join me?

Here are some links and videos to get us started:

♥ THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER: an Austrian composer hacked a mechanical piano to recite text. WAY AWESOME.

Greg Kadel Photography is all so glamorous!

♥ And speaking of glamour, Glamour Kills Clothing just came out with their new winter line!

♥ Remember this? Rihanna's performance of "Disturbia" at the 2008 VMA's. It was awesome!

♥ Possibly the most ridiculous BEST song ever.  There is a combination Taco Bell and Pizza Hut about a block away from my building, and I smile every time I pass it.  I always think of this song!

This blog is like the virtual equivalent of a gossip packed sleepover in a coffee shop with your best friends.  It is written by the hilarious and lovely Aquarius Alexi Celine Wasser from Los Angeles, California. Go read it nownownow!

Other, non-internet-y things that I'm loving this week:

How I Met Your Mother. Definitely one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I recently got really into it, watched nearly every existing episode online and I am now HOOKED. Neil Patrick Harris = THE MAN.
[But we all knew that.]

Anticipation! I'm going to see one of my favorite bands tomorrow: Hit the Lights !

To Write Love On Her Arms
If you don't know what this is, just go the the website and read it. They have done some awesome stuff and events on facebook like "Write LOVE On Your Arms Day" have really made it popular and helped to spread the word.

Love Eachother, Love Yourself!

Also, school, fun assignments, graphic design, typography, my friends, long conversations through facebook comments on a picture, Lady Gaga, looking forward to Thanksgiving break and seeing friends, Japanese grocery stores, animal ear headbands, bubble guns, talking to cute boys, talking about traveling, making silly videos, being really corny, and all of you!

Okay, it's your turn. Don't hold back, now.  Grab a friend or three, play your favorite song, and shout it to the sky!
What are you loving this week?!

Happy Friday the 13th!

Hello lovelies!  I hope that none of you have Paraskavedekatriaphobia

it is the fear of Friday the 13th, which is today!

I like Friday the 13th. In some cultures, it is a day that is considered good luck.
In others, it is considered a day that witches go out to have fun!

According to Wikipedia, the unrivaled source of all knowledge and truth, there is a lot of history and speculation surrounding this superstition.

In numerology, the number twelve is considered the number of completeness. Examples of this belief are the twelve months of the year, the twelve signs of the zodiac, and the twelve hours of the clock.  Therefore, the number thirteen is considered irregular.
There is also a superstition that having thirteen people dining together at a table will result in the death of one of the diners. [Remember in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?!]

Friday is also considered an unlucky day in many cultures. Therefore, the two elements put together equal a very unlucky day in many people's eyes.

Now, I am not crediting or discrediting this superstition.  Personally, I like to use the day to have fun when everyone else is freaking out!
And you know me, I will take any excuse to dress up. ;]
So here is my Friday the 13th themed outfit for today:

Things I Love This Week

What a crazy week! At least it is almost the weekend.
Here's some things I love this week:

♥ BAN COMIC SANS is so funny. Type nerd lovin' !

♥ There are so many reasons that I love Karl Lagerfeld, and this is only one.
Personality begins where comparison ends.” -Karl Lagerfeld
♥  The word "Vestiphobia".  It means "fear of clothes" !

♥  I saw a creeepy commercial on TV and had to look it up on the only source of truth, Google. Here's what I found: the original commercial, for a new Verizon phone called Droid, and a spoof video created by an iPhone user.

Lady Gaga back in the day
I think she's going to be one of the most popular people to be for Halloween this year.

♥  This video from the World Series!
[I'm a Mets fan, but currently rooting for the Yankees. Go New York!]

What are you loving this week?

Links I Love and Daisies Galore

Here's some link-lovin' for the week. I heart procrastination, uh oh!

You Are Beautiful project. Such a great idea, everyone should be reminded of this daily. :] There's a lot of really cool, inspiring artwork on the site as well. Contribute to the love!

❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊

Young blaggers have influence in the fashion world! I mean duhh, ;] but it's a pretty cool article. Clickety-click.

❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊

♥ Zo is awesome, creative, and has amazing hair. Also, her blog is super rad. :]

❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊

♥ Okay, so I had to research geometry in nature for a 2-D integrated design project, and I found this video. It's pretty amazing and way more
informative than any math classes I've ever taken! I think it was made by a cabinet company, so just ignore the advertising towards the end.

❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊

♥ LIFE Gallery: The Many Faces of Barbie. Just look at how she's changed! Barbie may be a doll, but she is totally a fashion icon!

❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊

Black Swan Vintage on Etsy.

❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊

Okay, so you might be wondering what's up with the daisy theme to this post.
Well my favorite band, Brand New, came out with a new CD last Tuesday titled Daisy.

❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊

I've listened to it a few times through already and I really like it. It's pretty dark and heavy and I really enjoy it. I might do a full write-up on it at another time, but I figured I would share my happiness and enthusiasm right now! :]
The band is streaming some of the songs from the album on their myspace, so I encourage you to check it out!

Share some cool links with us this week! Have you heard Daisy? What do you think?

Astrology: Mystic Medusa

I've been lurking on the website Mystic Medusa a bit lately and I really like it. The people who comment on it seem to really know what they are talking about. There are some interesting, articles and the comments are often pretty hilarious. If you're into astrology I definitely recommend checking it out. I've always been pretty into it, I find most people's signs to be right on. I don't live my life by horoscopes but I do think it's interesting to take them into consideration sometimes, especially in retrospect. It can be cool to see if they are right on or way off.
I am a Sagittarius and I think that most of the personality traits, etc. that come along with being a Sagittarius definitely line up with me. For example: really optimistic, loves traveling, thinks big, gets bored easily, can be brutally honest.

I love Hello Kitty :]

There are tons of cool astrology sites on the interwebs.
I found this a while ago; How to Spot a Sagittarius, etc. They are all pretty funny, especially if you know what signs you and your friends are:

And the always fabulous Gala Darling wrote this waaaay back in April 2008:
I think it's great and the outfits are awesome. I've been wanting paper crane jewelry since I first read this! And I am toootally all about boots! :]

So what do you think about Astrology? And what's yo sign? ;]

Things Involving Sports

My friend Jay recently created a sports blog and it is pretty awesome. I like it and I could never hope to be even half as much into sports as he is.

I've linked it on the side but thought it was worth making an actual post about. So if you like your sports with a side of clever, go on and check it it out here.

All I have to say to the Mets is: Come onnn. Really? -_-
