Things I Love This Week! :]

Hey there lovelies! Here are some of the things that I am loving this week:

This Collection of Photos by Yeondoo Jung: they are all surreal, amazing, and based on children's drawings!

♥ Returning home to New York! I love being back home [and having phone service again!!!]

♥ Recieving my art supplies in the mail from Sam Flax and Pearl Paint. Yay for being prepared :]

Facebook comments from my friends. I love them :D

♥ Being a huge computer nerd. See Above. ;]

Bubble wrap. It's seriously the best. The package from Sam Flax that my paint came in was full with it! And if you don't have the real stuff, this works too!

Airports. I don't know why I like them so much, I just do!

The movie Fight Club. It is so awesome. In fact, I'm going to go watch it right now.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

"Go to foreign countries and you will get to know the good things one possesses at home."

What's a-floatin' your boat this week?

The lost city of Atlantis

I'm in the Bahamas right now and it's gorgeous. I could just sit and stare at the beach all day. Today while waiting for the bus, my friend and I spent some time people-watching in front of the resort where all the fancy people stay. [we were using their pool ;] ] It's funny to see women in bathing suits and designer heels. It seems odd but it's also refreshing from what seems to be the norm of vacation-wear: cutoffs and flipflops, or worse, terrycloth and crocs! I like seeing people step it up every now and then! Of course, personally I'm not so much for the designer heels, but it looks good if you can stand them!
I hope you all are having a fabulous summer!

Polyvore Part One

In a smallish town like the one I live in, it's kind of hard sometimes to find people who don't just follow trends with what they wear. I kind of can't wait for school to start, if only because it's a venue to be stylish every day and see what other people are wearing.
Polyvore is one of my favorite things on the interbot because it enables you to try new things- and things you may not be able to afford- from your computer. I could spent hours on it, which is why I now limit my time on it, ha ha.

This would be perfect for shopping at a street market.
I love the brown jacket and it goes unexpectedly well with a flowery skirt. Pairing things that usually wouldn't seem to go together is so much fun because a lot of the time they actually look great.
Polyvore is also great for finding new clothing pieces easily. It's where I discovered my new must-want item for when it gets a little colder:

This yellow jacket from topshop.

I love it. But I'm getting way ahead of myself here. I should be writing about the beach, since that's where I am! I'll check back in with that later.

What's everyone out there doing for summer?

Art Supplies

Okay, so the other day I went to Michael's craft store to look for art supplies. I'm starting a two week intensive fashion design course next week at Parson's School of Design, which is my ultimate dream school, and I had a supply list. It was a very long and specific list, and I couldn't find everything I needed at Michael's so I left. I went home and searched online at the websites of Sam Flax, Pearl Paint, Kate's Paperie, and other places and I still couldn't find everything I needed. It was really frustrating. Well, at least I found most of what I needed at Pearl Paint's website. It should be all shipped to me by the time I get home on thursday! Yay!

Does anyone out there have a place they swear by for art supplies?

Blogging Attempt, Take One

Blogblogblog.
Well I'm no stranger to putting my thoughts out on the interbot but I've never had a real-live true-story blog before. Let's see how this one goes.

To start out, I'm going to be a senior in high school. I'm planning on being a fashion design major and probably a writing minor. I'm madly in love with all things fashion, art and music. Feedback is my favorite thing ever.
So do it up!
I'm a "budding" fashion designer. I have a website at http://www.nikkidee.com/ where you can order something custom or choose from the things that change at random every now and then. I love technology and the internet because being connected all the time is fascinating to me; so of course I have accounts on facebook, myspace, twitter, livejournal, aol, and countless other places.

I'm going to be blogging on here about fashion, music, and whatever else tickles my fancy.
Okay, that's all for now!

Nikkidee! :]
