Things I Love This Week

Hello everyone! The weather is kind of lame today in New York, but that's okay. I feel like it's been a long time since I've done a TILTW, so let's doooo it.

♥ So, I'm now officially addicted to the show Weeds on Showtime. Does anybody else watch it? I just started it the other day and I'm already up to season five. Seriously, this show is making me its bitch.

♥ In other news, I'm working on getting my website completely up and running with Paypal. Hopefully by tonight or tomorrow it will be completely set up. Don't forget to keep checking back for new products! I'm doing the best I can to keep it up while I'm getting ready to go back to school.  I am so, so excited for this.

♥ Going back to school soon! I'm excited to move into my apartment that I'm going to be sharing with six of my friends this year. It's going to be crazy. I can't wait. I'm pumped to learrrrn! (Ummm nerd alert.)

♥ Skype! It is the best thing for college students.

♥ Parties! House parties, parties in the city... as long as I am with my friends, we can have fun in a cardboard box!

 I gave this Mexican tequila to my friend as a gift. It has a real scorpion at the bottom!

I went to a ...umm, Health and Safety Meeting in Brooklyn with my friends.

♥ I am totally loving all of the style direction pieces that are popping up in the bloggaweb. Who started this trend? I am thinking maybe it was Gala Darling. I am going to do one of my own for this season, and I suggest you do one too! If you don't know what I'm talking about, 

-here are 2010's and this season's style direction pieces by Gala Darling. She calls them "Psychedelic Ladies Who Lunch" and "Gossip Girl on Acid". Cute!

-here is a seriously sweet one by Luinae called "Fairytale Dancer".

I think mine might be called "Urban Gypsy"!

♥ My last day at work for the summer. Woo!

♥ Drawing, drawing, drawing! My sketchbook is filled with so many Aviva designs that I can NOT wait to get started on.

♥ Runninggg. I recently purchased the Nike+ sportband and I'm obsessed. It logs your miles, pace, and more and you can upload it to nikeplus.com

♥ Muuusic! There are so many awesome concerts coming up that I am planning to go to. I am seriously stoked for them. I'll keep ya updated on which ones I am going to; maybe you'll see me there! I know for sure that I will be attending Envy on the Coast's farewell performance at The Fillmore at Irving Plaza this Saturday. (Read their vocalist Ryan Hunter's explanation for the breakup here. It's so sad and beautiful. I wish them all luck in their future endeavors.)

Happy Friday!  Today I have got some Things I Love This Week, and also some Link Lovin' for you guys!

Things I Love!

♥ Being home! I love seeing my family and hometown friends, eating and hanging out at Weir's (an ice cream place), being able to split my time hanging out in NYC and in the pretty Hudson Valley, and enjoying my summer.  The time is flying by already!

♥ being healthy! Last Thursday was my first full day at home, so I woke up early (okay, it was at noon, but whatever) and went to the gym with my best friend. I have a membership to Gold's Gym in Newburgh, NY, and let me tell you: that place is amazing. It is giant and has everything you could possibly need. When I got home I made a fruit smoothie and sat outside in the sun with my dog.  Great day much?

It is very sad about Alexander McQueen. He will be remembered forever, this has been the death of drama, the death of and innovation. He is the true definition of tragic genius.

♥ My favorite band, Brand New, is going on tour!

♥ The Demoiselles = really awesome. Gooo, reeeaaaad!

♥ Doppleganger week on facebook was really funny. According to myheritage.com, I look like Camilla Belle, Mandy Moore, and Lalaine - from Lizzie McGwire! (I don't look like any of these people). It also told my roommate that she looked like the Japanese president, and told me that I looked like Mother Theresa. Haha! According to my friend Jack, I look like Marisa Tomei! According to my brain’s wishes, I look like Rogue from X-Men. I love her!

♥ I'm going to see Four Year Strong tomorrow night! I'm super stoked, I have never seen them live and I've heard that they are amazing.

Also, can someone get me this for Valentine's Day? Please?

Valentine's Day Outfits and Radical Self Love

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and most people are either dreading it or excited for it- usually depending on whether or not they are in a relationship.
Heyyyyy people in the first group, cheer up and remember what this holiday is supposed to be about: LoOoOove! ;]

New Year's Resolutions

Here at Wishful Thinking, we are going to do something a little bit different as we look towards the new year ahead.

The beginning of a new year is probably the only time I make lists and get organized!

The first list is dreams. I daydream all day long about the magical life I want to have, and the magic that I want to spread to others!

The second list is resolutions to fulfill, either in the new year or beginning next year, that will help achieve those dreams.

Here is my personal list:

I wish to be a designer of dreams, a style discoverer, a pilot to the sun.

I wish to help the world through creative works.

I wish to be a fashion designer, and challenge conventional ideas of fashion and style

I wish to be part of the creation of music in some way.

I wish to spread the magic and love that I feel in my life every day.

I wish to travel to all parts of the world

ACTIONS!

I will learn Italian

I will take steps to learning to properly play the piano

I will continue to develop as an artist
I will make friends with many more amazing people!
I will help out and volunteer more!
I will spread whimsy everywhere I go (it is my favorite word!)

RESOLUTIONS

Instead of Resolutions, I have little phrases that remind me to stay focused on the ideas in my list!
This year, I have three main ideas that I want to stay focused on as I make my adventurous way through the year!

♥ SHARE the LOVE!

I am so excited!  It is time to look back on the decade (!) with love and no regrets!

It is time to look ahead and get excited for a new start!

I love the holidays! 

They are a perfect time to:

♥ dress up! - wear sparkly dresses, pointy elf shoes and ugly sweaters!

♥ reallyyy get into the spirit - drink hot chocolate (or frozen hot chocolate!), watch Christmas movies (my favorites are Elf, It's a Wonderful Life, The Year Without a Santa Claus, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas ! What are yours?), play dradle (or the dradle drinking game, hehe!), sing songs... !

Birthday Month of Fun-in Pictures!

December = MY BIRTHDAY MONTH OF FUN

During the month of December, I vowed to do every fun thing that was suggested, and to inject a sense of fun into everything I did!

It was a bit exhausting, but super rewarding. A+ experience, stellar time, would recommend others etc etc!

Therefore, I have a bunch of pictures to show you. And by a bunch, I mean a barrel. By which I mean a ton. Which roughly translates to OMG LOTSA  SO MANY

Are you ready for picture overload?!

I did a lot of work for school. Finals!

I turned 18! DUDE.

I bundled up like crazy - in this pictures I believe I am wearing 8 layers on top and five on the bottom, I could barely move my arms - and waited in line for Saturday Night Live tickets at five in the morning.  We didn't get them, but hopefully we will next time!

 

I went out last Thursday for drinks and yummy food with some friends to celebrate the end of finals and our last day of critiques!

My besties from upstate came to visit and spend a weekend with me in the city. I love them and had an amazing time! Best friend weekend!

Also, it snowed! A LOT!

We went to the Union Square holiday craft show thing. I thought these gloves were hilarious!

My friend and I told the guy selling them that they looked great, and he replied, "they would look better on you!"  Of course I just had to try them on! ;]

 

Someone wrote some dirty words on this tree in flour at a pizza shop.  What a grinch! My friend and I crossed them out. :]

Things I Love This Week

 

being proud of being a nerd, writing, staying up all night to do things that make me happy not just for class, feeling organized, rediscovering old music, highlighter shades of colors, drawing dinosaurs, jellyFISHES, the Museum of Natural History, BESTIE COMING TO THE CITY AT THE END OF NEXT WEEK, the semester is almost over, the Christmas season in the city, getting excited about the pathetic rain-snow we got, languages, text messaging, skyping with my besties while I do homework, Artichoke Pizza, goin' willld sometimes, zines, being close with my brother, online "screen shopping" -which is the interweb equivelant of window shopping, the fact that all my friends here sing as badly as I do! haha, mcdonalds kids meal toys, HARRY POTTER MARATHONS, a room full of random people singing happy birthday to me at midnight, going into an xxx shop with friends just for jokes and because I can, midnight breakfast,               

MY BIRTHDAY IS TODAY

I love you all, and so far I've had a great two hours and fourteen minutes of finally being eighteen years old! 

I hope you all have a great weekend! AND I HOPE IT SNOWS THIS WEEKEND IN NEW YORK CITY!

Okay, so it's 12:37 a.m., which means that it's technically Friday, but..

Happy Thanksgiving!

[Americans!]

Today, I'm giving thanks for friends, family, and opportunity! ♥

I brought my college roommate to my hometown for a few days, and I got to see some of my friends for the first time since August!  I also got to see my brothers and my doggies! :]

I spent the day eating a lot of delicious food, hanging out with my family and watching That 70s Show with Mika and my friend Marc.

Tomorrow [technically today] I am going Black Friday shopping at the Woodbury Commons Outlets... wish. me. luck! It's going to be insane. I probably won't get much actual shopping done, but it will be fun to observe the insanity!

♥ How I Met Your Mother. Definitely one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I recently got really into it, watched nearly every existing episode online and I am now HOOKED. Neil Patrick Harris = THE MAN.

♥ Anticipation! I'm going to see one of my favorite bands tomorrow: Hit the Lights !

♥ To Write Love On Her Arms 
If you don't know what this is, just go the the website and read it. They have done some awesome stuff and events on facebook like "Write LOVE On Your Arms Day" have really made it popular and helped to spread the word.
